Why some tint blocks signal
Older and cheaper “metallic” tint films contain tiny metal particles to reject heat. Those metal layers can interfere with radio-frequency signals, including cell reception, GPS, radar detectors, and yes, Tesla key cards and phone-as-key.
Why ceramic film doesn’t
XPEL PRIME ceramic film uses non-conductive nano-ceramic particles instead of metal. That means it rejects just as much (or more) heat without any signal interference. Your key card, sensors, GPS, and phone all work exactly as they should.
Perfect for Teslas and modern EVs
Because our film is metal-free, it’s ideal for Teslas, Rivians, and any sensor-heavy modern car. We tint Model 3, Y, S, and X regularly with zero key card or Autopilot issues, and we can tint the glass roof to cut serious heat.
