What “VLT” means
VLT stands for Visible Light Transmission, the percentage of light that passes through the film. A lower number means darker tint. 5% (limo) is very dark; 50% is light. The right choice balances looks, privacy, and California’s legal limits.
Common choices
35% is a popular all-around look, noticeable but not too dark. 20% offers more privacy and a sleeker appearance. 50% is subtle and maximizes heat rejection while staying very light. Many drivers go darker on rear windows and lighter up front to stay legal.
Staying CA street-legal
California has front-window VLT limits, so we help you pick a percentage that looks great and keeps you compliant. Remember: with ceramic film, you don’t need to go dark to get serious heat rejection.
