There's a specific kind of fear that comes with a brand-new Ferrari. It isn't the speed. It's the first rock on the freeway. The owner of this one felt it the moment he drove off the lot: every canyon run, every mile on the 405, was one stone away from a chip in paint that costs a fortune to put right.

He didn't want to baby it. He wanted to drive it like a Ferrari and never think about it. So we took the fear off the table. Every painted panel got wrapped in full-body XPEL paint protection film, cut to the millimeter for this exact car.

The film is completely clear, so the Ferrari still looks like it just left Maranello. But now there is an invisible layer doing the worrying for him. Stone chips, bug acid, car-wash swirls, light scratches: they hit the film, not the paint. The hardest part of a job like this isn't the film. It's the edges. On a car shaped like this, every vent, every curve, every line is a chance for a lifted edge to show. We wrapped the edges in, tucked them clean, and left no tell. From three feet away you would never know it is there. That is the point.
